The Specialist M16-A5 is a burst assault rifle that fires a grenade on the first shot of each magazine. It deals good damage with a fast rate of fire, and it grants faster cooldowns to items classified as grenades and traps.
In Arena, it can be purchased for Raider and Demolisher as a series 4 weapon.
In Legion Rising, it can be obtained in the same way as any other weapon, if the player has the Arena Premium Upgrade DLC.
The abbreviation for this weapon is 'M163.'

- With ammo regeneration, it is possible to keep the magazine topped off, allowing multiple grenades to be fired within a short period of time.
- This can be easily achieved as level 20+ Engineer.
Trivia[ | ]
- This weapon is based off of the M16A3 and M203 underbarrel grenade launcher. Despite being based off of the M16A3, the weapon shoots in 3 shot bursts, similar to the M16A2/M16A4.
- While the weapon is referred to in the initial announcement and patch notes as the "Specialist M16-A3" or "M16A4", the name of the weapon in-game and in the main menu is "Specialist M16-A5".
- Likely a reference to the 1983 film Scarface, where it is referred to as the titular character Scarface's "Little Friend."
